India takes a U-turn — denies U.S. President Trump's mediation in the ceasefire between Pakistan and India. Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri rejected the idea of American involvement in the ceasefire efforts. During an important session in the Indian Parliament, the role of U.S. President Donald Trump in the Pakistan-India ceasefire was strongly criticized.
While briefing the parliamentary committee, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stated that the final decision was entirely India's own. He said U.S. President Trump had no role in the ceasefire. The Indian Foreign Secretary added that Trump did not seek our permission to intervene; he wanted to get involved on his own — and so he did.
They said that the U.S. President claimed to mediate seven times, but he never took any permission from India.
Donald Trump wanted to make himself the center of attention, whereas the Modi government never acknowledged any such role.
The conflict between Pakistan and India remained within the bounds of conventional warfare, and Pakistan never gave any nuclear threat. No evidence of any nuclear threat from Islamabad was found.
According to Indian media, the parliamentary committee repeatedly asked how many Indian aircraft were destroyed in the war with Pakistan, but Vikram Misri kept refusing to answer, citing national security.
At this point, opposition leaders raised the question that if the U.S. had no role, why did the Modi government avoid highlighting the matter before the world?
The opposition also asked why, if India keeps bringing the issue to the United Nations, the government remains silent on the topic of mediation. Was the Modi government secretly involved in the process?
How did India attack Pakistani air bases — but when the opposition demanded details of the destroyed Indian aircraft, they were avoided.
Defense analysts say the Modi government is hiding the actual damage and is only claiming victory in the media.
Senior journalists have also raised questions regarding how the government shifted the topic.
According to defense experts, the denial of U.S. mediation is actually a result of internal political pressure.
